Committed to supporting:
  • Public Safety
  • Economic Development
  • Fiscal Responsibility

  • District Elections

As a longtime resident with experience in public service, I am running for Gilroy City Council to represent a new, independent voice for Gilroy.

I have lived in Gilroy for 42 years, and my wife and I raised our two sons here. Before retirement, I worked as a plumber and later as project manager and estimator (all for the same company) for 33 years. In 2011, a land use issue near our home led me to a position on the Planning Commission, where I am the current Chair and continue to serve. I am also a member of the Gilroy General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC), the Citizens Advisory Committee for the High Speed Rail Downtown Area Plan, Community Working Group for High Speed Rail, Technical Advisory Group for High Speed Rail, Planning Commission Advisor to the Gilroy Downtown Association, and former member of the Development Standards Task Force and Technical Review and Zoning Review subcommittees of the Development Standards Taskforce.

I am an independent thinker and have made no promises to any group. I support open government and transparency. I am also a strong believer in pragmatic, collaborative problem solving. I will encourage and welcome input from all parties, respect the opinions of others, listen to public input, and make my decisions based upon the information available to me. I will vote for what I believe is in the best interest of the citizens of Gilroy.

I am fiscally conservative and support balanced budgets and adequate reserves. I support responsible development, open space, and a vibrant downtown. I support more funding directed to street maintenance and repairs. I support a transition from at large, to district elections. For more information, see Priorities.
